Bethany Powers, DO

Dr. Powers grew up in a small town in northeastern North Carolina with a population of just over 5,000. She completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University and intentionally pursued Osteopathic Medicine at GA-PCOM. During her training, she was assigned to Spartanburg Regional, where she quickly fell in love with the community, and her husband, and later completed her Family Medicine residency. She went on to complete a second residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in Orlando, Florida before returning to the Upstate.

Passionate about both education and community impact, Dr. Powers serves as the OMM Chair at VCOM-Carolinas and practices at the Cherokee County Free Clinic and the Spartanburg Regional Center for Family Medicine. Through the birth and care of her two children, she developed a strong interest in newborn feeding challenges and breastfeeding support. As a physician, educator, and mother, she understands that motherhood isn’t easy—and that it truly takes a village.
